Community Grant Guidelines & Instructions

At 12Stone™ Church we believe we are most like Christ when we give ourselves away to those who are under resourced or marginalized by society. Scripture clearly expresses the heart of God to turn to the poor, the sick, the immigrant, the prisoner, the widow, and the orphan. As Christ followers, therefore, we are commanded and called to serve others by giving ourselves away.

As an organizational strategy, we believe we are best able to do this when we partner with other organizations that focus on specific target areas rather than building program areas within the church. Therefore, we partner with organizations to see the body of Christ serve the community and to pursue community transformation.

Between February and May of each year, we review our budget to make grant decisions for the period of June 1 through May 31 of the following year. In order to assist us in our decision making process, each requesting organization must provide 12Stone with a proposal for funds. The proposal must include the following information:

• Name of your organization
• Contact Information
• General Overview of Organization
• Statement of Need (describe the problem that your organization will address. Please include the population that will be served.)
• Requested funding amount (how much are you asking for in this grant over a period of one year)
• Requested Funding Frequency and Timing (one-time or periodically and when)
• Volunteer opportunities associated with the grant (volunteer opportunities are weighted heavily in the decision-making process)
• Board Members Names, affiliation, and contact information
• Operating budget for the current year
• Latest IRS form 990
• 501(c)3 Certification and verification of Georgia Non-profit Corporation Status

It is the practice of 12Stone to engage in the community not only with funds, but with our people. Our intent is to serve not only with our financial resources, but with the transformational potential of life-on-life engagement. These opportunities for volunteer engagement are weighted heavily in the decision-making process.

Please submit your proposal no later than May 1. Please submit 2 copies of your package to the attention of Karen Klett, Extension Ministries, 12Stone™ Church, 1322 Buford Drive, Lawrenceville, GA 30043. Recipients will be announced no later than June 30.
