Extension Ministries Prayer Team

Become part of this group that is essential to our local and global outreach teams. Prayer is the most powerful tool we have; join us in leveraging that tool to transform our community, nation and world. Contact Karen Klett at Karen.klett@12stone.com or 678.990.8124.

Inner City Outreach: Adopt a Block with the Atlanta Dream Center
(a Street GRACE partnership)

(For more information on our efforts to stop the commercial exploitation of children in Atlanta, visit www.streetgrace.org.) The old 4th ward is known for drugs, prostitution, and poverty stricken families. Every week teams go out into the 4th ward to meet practical and spiritual needs of the people. Teams meet outside the Dream Center offices on Saturday mornings (10 am), then go out into the neighborhood with groceries, trash bags—showing the residents of this neighborhood a glimpse of who Jesus is through our love and kindness. All volunteers should plan on bringing a bag of grocery items to give away. Pick a Saturday, any Saturday! For more info and to sign up go to: http://www.atlantaic.org or contact Karen Klett at Karen.klett@12stone.com.

Feed the Homeless in Lawrenceville at Trinity Life Church

Every Friday evening we’re reaching out to the homeless and needy in Lawrenceville through our partnership with Trinity Life Church. Needed are people to set up, serve and clean up. For more information visit their website http://www.trinitylifechurch.net and sign up under “volunteer spot”. A brief orientation is required prior to serving.

Creekland After-School Tutoring Program

Tutor at-risk students who attend Creekland Middle school. Needed are people who have a heart to work with kids in the core subject areas of math, language arts (writing), social studies and science. This is truly an opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a child.

Serve Homeless Families with Family Promise!

12Stone Church has a partnership with Family Promise in an effort to end homeless, one family at a time. For more information visit their website: www.familypromisegwinnett.org. Serving opportunities include:

Dinner Host - Provides dinner and prayer to the families 5:30-7pm daily. Fun Host- provides socialization and conversation to the families. If you have kids, there are always other children to play with! This typically is from 7pm-9pm. Games and crafts are always enjoyed and appreciated.
Overnight Host - Provides them with an emergency point of contact. Since the families go to their rooms around this time, there is not much interaction with the families.
Saturday Hosts - Each location’s needs vary. Typically timeslots assigned involve a morning host and afternoon host.

12Stone is responsible for staffing the day center on the first Sunday of each month. (3495 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville). Many shifts are available; this is a great opportunity to serve with your entire family!

Participants over 16 must attend an orientation session prior to serving. These sessions take place monthly at the Day Center (3495 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville) Contact Rachael at familypromise_gwinnett@yahoo.com for more information.
