In Middle School "tweenagers" are no longer children and face a world that would
have them grow up too fast. They ride an emotional rollercoaster in search of security, identity, truth and acceptance. We want to help you guide them to the right influences, the right sources of truth and encourage them to encounter God
in a community of peers.
Middle School Ministry
Summer Camp
12Stone® Church Student Summer Camp:
July 5-9, 2010 Majestic Beach Resort, Panama City Beach Florida
Online registration begins in April for current 6th-12th grade students only
Core Concept
Middle schoolers are curious. They wonder, they imagine, they question. What else is new? But sometimes the curious questions have a heartfelt core. What does Jesus have to do with me? Is the Bible really important? 12Stone's Middle School Ministry focus is to genuinely listen and care for the hearts and minds of 6th-8th graders - to make them feel known and accepted in a place where answers can be found.
This is the pivotal time of transition out of childhood and the time that most adolescents choose to follow Christ. We think our leaders and volunteers can be a valuable compliment to your parenting during this time.
Environments
If your student is skeptical about church being fun, one time at prime should effectively change their mind. Xbox on the big screen. Loud music, Powerful videos and teaching moments in an atmosphere where live worship meets airband competition meets Japanese gameshow meets caffeine. Yeah, pretty cool.
Encounter appeals to those students who desire a deeper relationship with Christ focusing on biblical teaching and worship with higher intensity.
Parent Involvement
One word: Balance. What is the right balance in spending time with your child relaxing, studying God's Word, correcting, praying with, teaching life skills, and everything else you need to do? It's one of the toughest targets to hit with middle school students. That is why we host parent training seminars, encourage parents to be involved in weekly programs, and serve as partners to make sure that the middle school years are some of the best for your family
